No better prequel to a month of novel writing than to be a great Character for Halloween. Thanks to "Time Traveler Costumes" here in town I was able to hire most of the key articles, but some were already in my possession. In the course of the Holiday weekend, I:
- gave flowers to an elegant Lady
- was delivered from peril by a young Scholar
- attended a Country Ball
- was asked if the Sideburns were "real or fake"
- became Famous somewhere in China
- wrote about 1300 Words
- ran 18 Miles (in two days)
- ate no small Quantity of Candy
In all, an excellent weekend.
You make a very dapper Darcy.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say 'accepted,' you mean 'acknowledged,' right?
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh yes. That too. (Geez, how embarrassing! Good thing I can edit the post.)
How is it that I seem to be talking to myself?
ReplyDeleteAh, the memories of Halloweens past and your costumes!
ReplyDelete"Egad, sir!" she said, fanning bravely. (Only, women didn't say 'egad," did they? Certainly not unless they were the sort that kept a set of sideburns in the highboy along with knee-britches and a riding crop.)
ReplyDeleteI hope Dorothy Snarker of Dorothy Surrenders (http://dorothysurrenders.blogspot.com/) doesn't get wind of these pictures, else you will show up on this Thursday's Wanted List!
An excellent likeness, sir! Methinks there is also a hint of Mr. Knightley, a certain wisdom and self-knowledge about the visage that the younger Mr. D. lacked at the time.
Well done, Sir! Well done!
I like it!
ReplyDelete(I also like that you seem to be talking to yourself)
