"Beauty confronts us with the requirement that we place ourselves among...the redeemers, the leaders in the protection of life. Once you have seen the bush on fire, you are not going to get out of the assignment unless you close your eyes to the beauty.... [You] either have to close your eyes or go back to Egypt and set the people free." - Rev. Dr. Rebecca Parker, "Rising to the Challenge of Our Times"

Updated Roster

Introducing the 2007 Redding Rage. Two weeks until game day. Hoping it rains, at least for awhile, on our practice tomorrow--my white practice jersey is still far too white.

That's pretty sweet that on the roster it says you were "acquired."

What it doesn't say is that I was acquired in the "Burger Hut."

Someday, that Burger Hut will be immortalized, and your mud-streaked little jersey will hang right over the deep fryer for all to see and sigh over. And the Hut will have advertise a weekend special, the EMBURGER, a vegan delight of ground soybeans, macadamia nuts, and apple peels. Served, of course, with an ice-cold BRUISER-BREW, "made at home by loving hands."

Ha ha...Change the soybean & apple peel patty to buffalo burger w/ jalapeno jack cheese and a side of garlic fries, and you're really on to something.

Kind of reminds me of that Burger King we used to stop at after a night at the Golden Key on the way from east to west. I loved those adventures, didn't you? (reference all the football memorabilia)

Yes, the Oakland Raiders' Jim Otto Burger King. Can't remember much good about the food there but it was always good to be on our way to the coast.
